Claudine Engeser / Communication


Born and raised in the Lower Rhine region, Claudine Engeser came to Cologne in the mid-1980s directly after graduating from high school to study English, Romance literatue and linguistics and German studies. Her plan to become a journalist came to fruition after internships at VIVA TV, NDR, WDR and others. She worked for many years as a freelance writer for radio, television and print. She has written about culture and society for newspapers, online portals and magazines such as Qvest, mare, WamS, Spiegel Online and others. She reported about exhibitions, books and personalities from the art and literature scene for the radio channels WDR 5 and WDR 3 and about pop music for WDR 2.  She has previously moderated art talks in galleries and readings at trade fairs. Claudine founded KUNSTGANG, an agency that organizes tours of galleries and artists' studios. She honed her PR skills through working for galleries and in agencies and still freelances in this field today. Claudine has been organizing and moderating literature salons since 2006, and for the Salon Festival for several years. At the association Freie Volksbühne Köln Claudine Engeser is responsible for press and public relations since 2021.
