Kerstin Ortmeier: born in Nürnberg. She studied New German Literature History, Romance Philology as well as Theater and Media Science in Erlangen and in Aix-en-Provence. She worked for various daily newspapers as well as for News and cultural editorial staffs of public service broadcasting authorities. She worked as a stage direction and a production assistant for Eikon Media in Berlin. She was also a dramaturgy assistant at the National Theater of Nürnberg and a freelancer in the areas of Production, Organization, Public Relations and Dramaturgy, working for the international Dance and Theater Festival and the symposium off limits in Dortmund (2005/2007), the multi-medial, interdisciplinary Art Project “HANGING AROUND/ HeimatQuartier”promoted by the EU as well as for the international Author Meeting "Poets ahead" of the “Mülheimer Theatertage NRW- Stücke ´06”. Off 2008, she worked as an assistant of the art direction (Amelie Deuflhard) for Kampnagel in Hamburg. From 2009 to 2016 she was a dramatist in Theater im Bauturm in Cologne. In fall 2010 she was in charge of the creations of the theater festival “Récréâtrales” in Burkina Faso as a dramatist. In 2011 she funded the theater project africologne with Gerhardt Haag. In 2022, she also worked as a programme curator at the Humboldt Forum in Berlin.
