Open-mindedness and tolerance are trademarks of the city of Cologne, where people from 180 nations live, many of them from African countries. At the end of this year's africologne-FESTIVAL, we will turn the city into a stage and celebrate an open-air festival of cultural diversity for a peaceful, creative and respectful community. On Ebertplatz we will present an intriguing stage programme with live music (from Cologne to Ouagadougou) and discussions from 3 pm to 10 pm. Communities, initiatives and associations that serve as a link to German culture for migrants from African countries will introduce themselves and their work. Short excerpts from festival productions will also be shown. We want to encourage people to think about what we can do to improve understanding between Europe and Africa. African Vibe and Cologne's idea of "live and let live" (Levve and levve losse) will be brought together here on a grand scale. Kölsch, brochettes and plantains go together perfectly! Let's dive in...! A festivity for the whole family.

"Trees can't come together, but people find each other." (Wisdom from Ghana)

"There is no freedom without mutual understanding" (Albert Camus)

The event is sponsored by the Ministerium für Kinder, Familie, Flüchtlinge und Integration Nordrhein-Westfalen and the Auswärtiges Amt.
